Veterans Day

The only armed forces veteran I've known has been my grandfather, who was a colonel in the army. Miss you, grandpa.

My dad was ad corporal stationed in Guam at the end of WWII, after medical school he went back in the Army to take his residency in El Paso. I barely remember those days but I may have downed a Shirley Temple or two when my parents would drive over to Mexico on Saturday night. A good guy,I still have his captain's bars somewhere. Also liberal and a Democrat though my dear sweet grandmother just adored Richard Nixon:)

My grandmother was a conservative republican too - it made for a lot of interesting fights :)

Crystal! I'm glad that you and your sister have good memories of your grandpa. God Bless his soul.

I started this crazy little poem less than a half hour ago and was about to throw it away and then I thought why not let you see "IT" cause you and your readers know that I'm not really crazy but just a little eccentric at times. Right? :(

Anyway! Maybe you can finish "IT" :)

THE PAIN OF THE CHASE

The Pain of The Chase is not covered with lace

The pain of the chase is all done in haste

Why must we chase after something that we'll never get

All we can hope for is that someday we'll forget a heart set

Degress I say, degress this day before you find taste may set

Why worry about eternal rest, when all you can do is your best.

The pain of the chase is but a waste of time that we never had

So stop "IT" right now cause the pain can be dreadful some how,

Why would you that, wasting your time my friend, look around YA

Don't YA know that the pain of the chase is nothing but this grace

Ham "IT" on home and then to the sea, the pain of the chase to never be

Take my advice, my friends this day, free is the wisdom what more can "I" say?

Happy Remembrance Day
